Salzburg Photos: Mülln Parish Church

The Parish church of the district Mülln
is actually a rather high
building, but looks like a small village church if approached from the
Mönchsberg (as in this picture). This is mainly because the church sits at the
base of the hill, which approaches rather steeply from this part. The name Mülln
refers to the German word for mill, because the district was once famous for the
many mills that once ran thanks to the Almkanal, an underground canal still
crossing the area.
